Deer Resistant Annuals, PA

by Kate
(Pittsburgh, PA)

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, where deer populations have started exploding within the city. I've had excellent luck with Four O'Clocks. The deer don't touch them, even when they are browsing plants right around them. Morning Glories haven't been eaten, either.

I interspersed fragrant herbs, marigolds, onions and garlic plants in my front yard vegetable and flower garden and nothing was eaten, though I attribute it to the garden being very close to the house.

The neighbor's hostas are a snacking favorite, as are Rose of Sharon and Japanese flowering cherry.
