I don't have a story about use as I do a question about the use of milorganite fertilizer.


30+ years ago I worked at a competitor for Home Depot that sold milorganite. I distinctly remember a warning label on this product to the effect that the sewage it was made from may contain cadmium, lead and other heavy metals that the plants would absorb from the soil. If used in or near a vegetable garden, there was a strong possibility that these heavy metals would be absorbed by the vegetables. To your knowledge, has the company that makes milorganite made an effort to control the sources of the sewage they use in such a way as to eliminate or drastically reduce the threat of heavy metal contamination? This product may be an excellant deer repellent for ornamentals, but not necessarily for plants that will find their way to your dinner plate.
